"Hospice was very involved even though it was for only 10 days. The called me at home in the evening to give me emotional support. They stayed for many hours at the assisted living facility after Dad died to provide support. They attended the funeral. They provided equipment, hospital bed, and walker very quickly. They came out to meet the family within hours of the first phone call. They offered me assistance after dad died. They were wonderful!"

Hospice of Washington County’s staff and volunteers are honored to answer the call of our founders’ early mission. The Hospice was born out of the vision of an exceptional group of people who realized the value of hospice care and wanted it for their families and neighbors. In 1980 they created a small, all-volunteer organization. HWC has grown into an organization employing nearly 100 people and serving over 200 patients a day.
