With the recently revised blood pressure guideline, many Americans are now considered to have high blood pressure. The best ways to protect against heart attack, stroke and other complication of high blood pressure are to participate in routine blood pressure screenings, eat foods that lower blood pressure, participate in regular, moderate exercise 4-5 days per week and take prescriptions medicines according to your doctor’s orders.

Hospice of Washington County is pleased to provide space at the Hancock Community Life Center to USMH Community Nursing Students, who will conduct COMPLIMENTARY blood pressure screenings for the entire community. With the goal of improving overall community health, the nursing students will share information, answer questions and take blood pressures on Wednesday April 25, 2018 from 1 -2 p.m. If you want to get a head start on improving your health, check out the following link that details 13 “Super Foods” proven to improve cardiac health.

For additional information on healthy life style habits, the Mayo Clinic, a world leader in cardiac health, lists the following ways to reduce the risk of cardiac disease.
