DoveTales Volunteer Training

Please join us for our DoveTales Volunteer Training on Monday, September 30th at 5:30 p.m. as we prepare for this year's DoveTales camp! All Volunteers for the camp are requested to attend this training.  To apply as a volunteer, please fill out the Volunteer Application and return it to Maria Reed, Bereavement Counselor, by September 13th.

Celebrations - Celebrity Waiter Gala

The feature of the festivities is a Celebrity Waiter Gala and Auction. Celebrations is really 20 to 30 dinner parties occurring within the larger event. Guests treat themselves to a tasty dinner as they socialize with old friends and make new ones. The unique part of this event is the Celebrity Waiters who compete for tips as they try to outdo each other. For tickets see our website at www.hospiceofwc.org or call 301-791-6360.

Hearts of Hope

These are on-going, open support groups, available to any adult who has experienced the death of a loved one. The group meets the first and third Monday of each month from 10:30am.-12:00 noon and second and fourth Thursday of each month from 5:30-7:00p.m.

Make a difference by offering invaluable companionship and support! Join our upcoming Volunteer Training Class! October 9 and 16, 8:30am-4:00pm Hospice of Washington County is seeking reliable, compassionate volunteers to make visits to our terminally ill patients and families in their homes or nursing facilities.  Hospice of Washington County, Inc. volunteers are key members of the interdisciplinary team. Volunteers are needed for:

DoveTales: a grieving camp for children

DoveTales designed for children (ages 6-13) who are coping with the death of a loved one. DoveTales is an educational, nurturing, and safe place for children to share their stories and to meet others who “get it.” Campers will have the opportunity to learn effective and practical skills for coping with their grief. There is no cost to attend this annual event. Campers attend one day camp, then are invited to participate in future camp reunion events.
