The 2018 Frederic H. Kass III, M.D. Endowed Scholarship Fund Scholarship Recipients Announced
(Hagerstown, MD) – Three students pursuing careers in the healthcare field were recently named as the recipients of the 2018 Frederic H. Kass III, M.D. Endowed Scholarship Fund. Dr. Frederic Kass is one of the founders of Hospice of Washington County, Inc. (HWC).
To honor Dr. Kass’s tireless efforts, HWC’s Board of Directors established the Frederic H. Kass III, M.D. Endowed Scholarship Fund. This fund is designed to support students in Washington County pursuing a career in healthcare. The fund is made possible by individuals and organizations who have given generously to support it.
This year’s scholarship recipients were Hillary Evans, RN for HWC, attending Shenandoah University working to become a Nurse Practitioner; Hanna Moser, a graduate of Williamsport High School and now attending Bridgewater College majoring in Biochemistry and Spanish; and Graycen Scott, a recent graduate of Barbara Ingram School for the Arts who will be attending Lebanon Valley College in the fall working towards a Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree .
“Hospice of Washington County has grown to provide comprehensive end-of-life care for our residents and support of their loved ones,” stated Dr. Kass. “I am grateful to have participated in this growth for the help Hospice has given to my patients and friends. I hope the scholarship funds will assist those pursuing careers in healthcare. Each year, we are astounded at the caliber of the student applications and the accomplishments of the youth in our area. We were very pleased this year to increase the scholarship award to $2,000.”
