THE FREDERIC H. KASS III, M.D. ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP FUND APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE
Applications for the 2018 Frederic H. Kass III, M.D. Endowed Scholarship Fund are now available. Dr. Frederic Kass is one of the founders of Hospice of Washington County, Inc. (HWC).
To honor Dr. Kass’s tireless efforts, HWC’s Board of Directors established the Frederic H. Kass III, M.D. Endowed Scholarship Fund. The fund is designed to provide financial support to Washington County students interested in pursuing careers in healthcare. The fund is made possible by individuals and organizations who have given generously to support it.
“Hospice of Washington County provides comprehensive end of life care for our residents and support of their loved ones,” stated Frederic H. Kass III, M.D. “I am grateful to have been part of the beginning of this organization. With the scholarship funds, I hope to assist those pursuing careers in healthcare. In the past, there have been deserving recipients. We hope to continue this tradition.”
Dr. Kass went on to state that he was delighted that the scholarships have been increased to $2,000. “I am very pleased that we could increase the scholarship amounts. With education costs rising, we felt it was appropriate to increase the scholarship award.” In 2018, three scholarships for $2,000 will be awarded. Applicants must be residents of Washington County, Maryland, employees of HWC or immediate family members of an HWC employee. All applicants must be accepted to or currently attending an accredited college majoring in a healthcare field and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Applications for the scholarships must be completed by April 1, 2018, and the scholarships will be awarded June 8.
