They made my husband very comfortable and me too! Your caring and loving manners were very important and appreciated by all family and friends. Thanks to all!"

Understanding Hospice

Hospice of Washington County supports people living with a life-limiting illness. This includes family members and caregivers.  HWC’s care is provided in patients’ homes, whether they are in single family, assisted living, or nursing facilities.

Loved ones that choose to be at home
Many people choose to spend the last days, weeks or months of their life in the comfort of their own home, surrounded by friends and family. We work diligently to help make that happen and make you and your loved one comfortable. Typically, an at-home patient will choose a primary caregiver who will become a vital part of communicating changes and requests made by the patient. This can be a spouse, adult child or a close friend. If you do not have a primary caregiver, we can work with you to ensure worry free times.

Hospice works closely with local hospitals
Hospice services can be implemented in most any setting, including the hospital. If you you go from the hospital to your home, we are there with you every step of the way to ensure the comfort you need through this time. While in the hospital, our staff does not take over the care, but rather combines their skills and expertise with the hospital staff. During this time, we’ll provide emotional and spiritual support regarding end-of-life issues.
