BUDFEST RAISES $5,000 FOR DOEY’S HOUSE

The Williamsport Redmen Tribe #84 hosted Budfest in August and raised $5,000 to help Hospice of Washington County’s Doey’s House. The WIlliamsport Redmen Tribe #84 is a non-profit organization devoted to inspiring a greater love for the United States of America and the principles of American liberty. Along with the women’s auxiliary, and the Degree of Pocahontas, the organization supports various charitable, youth, and educational programs.

“The Williamsport Redmen Tribe #84’s employees, members and volunteers are proud to support Doey’s House,” stated Tim Fraker, Member Williamsport Red Men Tribe #84. “Not only do

the services provided by Hospice of Washington County (HWC) benefit members of our community, but also many of us on a personal level as well. It is an honor to know that our donation will assist in providing care for those in their time of need.”

As the exclusive licensed provider of hospice care in Washington County, Maryland, HWC’s goal is to surround the patient and family with a personal team of professionals who know how to manage even the most difficult situations. HWC is governed by an elected Board of Directors and currently serves over 200 Washington County residents who live at home with family, in nursing homes, assisted living facilities or group homes. HWC promises to empower patients and families, assisting them in creating an extraordinary end-of-life experience.

Doey’s House, the hospice inpatient unit for HWC, was designed for hospice patients and their families in order to provide a comforting setting when pain and symptoms need to be managed

in a professional environment. During this intense phase of symptom management, both patient and family will be comforted by an expert team of caring professionals in a setting that provides many of the comforts of home.

“We are honored that the Budfest Committee and the Williamsport Redmen Tribe #84 selected Doey’s House as the recipient,” stated Karen Giffin, Associate Vice President of Mission Advancement. “With donations such as this one, we will be able to continue the quality end-of-life care for Washington County at our inpatient unit for years to come.”
