Volunteer Training

Make a difference by offering invaluable companionship and support! Join our upcoming Volunteer Training Class! February 13 and 20,  8:30am-4:00pm Hospice of Washington County is seeking reliable, compassionate volunteers to make visits to our terminally ill patients and families in their homes or nursing facilities.  Hospice of Washington County, Inc. volunteers are key members of the interdisciplinary team. Hearts of Hope

These are on-going, open support groups, available to any adult who has experienced the death of a loved one. The group meets the first and third Monday of each month from 10:30am.-12:00 noon and second and fourth Thursday of each month from 5:30-7:00p.m.

Hospice of Washington County (HWC) is continuing to serve the community with Bereavement Services. HWC will host the Hearts of Hope Group via Zoom (an online video chat platform). Hearts of Hope is an on-going, open support group available to any adult who has experienced a death of a loved one.

Quilts of Valor

Quilts of Valor Foundation is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is “to cover service members and veterans touched by was with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.” Mountain Mama Quilters meet to sew Quilts of Valor for military service members and veterans at the Hancock Community Life Center on the last Tuesday of every month.

Coping with Grief at the Holidays

Finding it hard to imagine the holidays without your loved one? Not sure how to deal with family and friends? Or the merriment of the holidays? Social Brunch

Join Hospice of Washington County the first Tuesday of each month at 10:30 AM for a Social Bruch at the Hagerstown Family Diner on Dual Highway in Hagerstown. Open to anyone who has experienced the death of a loved one. Not designed to be a grief group, but rather a safe place to socialize with others who can appreciate the many aspects of grief. Please contact Hazel Neibert (HWC support group member) at 240-313-0353 to RSVP. Each person will be responsible for paying for their own meal.

Lights of Love

Please join us as we have Lights of Love at Doey’s House. We will be putting lights on an Evergreen tree in honor and memory of loved ones. If you would like to sponsor a light for your loved one, click here to download the donation form Lights of Love Donation Form (One name per sheet please. Order as many as you like.) Names of those being honored and remembered will be read off outside of Doey’s House.
